Thanks to everyone who came to the Fairfield and area community safety neighbours day yesterday. Special thanks to Matthew Grove, Police and Crime Commissioner for Humberside (pictured left with Dexter Magic) for excellent conversation and participation, and to Dave Hudson from the PCC Office. Thanks to Nicola Campbell, Mags and Liam from Victim Support and PCSOs Natalie Bingham and Steve Clayton for all their hard work. We set up in the rain (fine for the plant swap) but by lunch time the sun peeped out and it was shining in time for Dexter’s magic show.
Thanks to everyone who joined in and came and talk to Matthew about community safety in our area and to find out more about the excellent work of Victim Support. Special thanks to Joan and to Irene for baking, jam making, and help with the refreshments and book and plant swap.
Victim Support is a charity giving free and confidential help to victims and witnesses of crime. They meet with people in their homes or at local offices to provide emotional support and practical help, from alarms and crime prevention equipment to advice and information. They also support people who are called as witnesses in court. If you would like to speak to Victim Support about receiving some support following a crime, you can contact their Victim Care Unit on 0300 303 1971. If you are interested in volunteering for Victim Support and would like some further information, you can call the local Hull and East Riding office on 01482 305089 or 01482 305087 and speak to a member of the team.
